If you are new to hair colour or are considering a big hair colour change, please book into our Gloucester hair salon for a complimentary colour consultation so we can assess your hair, discuss the look you desire and devise a plan. All Over Hair Colour

From a vibrant copper to a deep red shade, or a rich chocolate brown colour our team of professional colour technicians can make it happen!

Working with colour brand Redken, we are passionate about looking after the condition of your hair. Our team of creatives will advise on the most suitable service for your hair and provide aftercare to give you hair that stays glossy, healthy and strong.

The hair colour specialists in Gloucester at Fringe Benefits also offer a regrowth touch up service, allowing you to maintain your beautiful hair colour and refresh your look.

Ombré

We can create beautiful ombre and balayage hair colours by adding subtle (or not so subtle) highlights throughout your hair.   Balayage means ‘to paint’ or ‘to sweep’ in French and involves creating a natural sun-kissed look by hand painting highlights through your hair.  We also offer ombré hair colouring which will give you a more defined two-tone colour that is usually dark to light but can also include fun fashion hair colours.

Highlights, Lowlights, Babylights & Foils

Possibly the most popular hair colour techniques are foil highlights and lowlights. Applying foil highlights and lowlights is a way of adding multiple tones and shades to your hair colour, as well as creating more depth. Combining different hair colours is also a fantastic way of developing your own unique look and delivering stunning results in the process.

We also use mesh as a technique to scatter highlights & lowlights throughout the hair which offers a subtle, natural look as the colour grows out as there is no definite line between colour and regrowth.

Covering Grey Hair

We can blend your grey roots or disguise white hairs in with the rest of your hair colour to give your hair renewed depth and shine. Glossing can also be used to add tone to your hair colour and even camouflage grey hair.

If you are looking to embrace your grey hair colour and are worried that it may age you, then think again. Visit the team of experienced hair designers at Fringe Benefits hair salon in Gloucester who will work with your natural grey hair colour and leave you looking gorgeous and feeling confident.

Ammonia-Free Hair Colour & Glossing

The Shades EQ semi-permanent hair colours are ammonia-free so are gentle on the hair. They do not lift hair colour to a lighter shade but can be used in a variety of hair colouring techniques including:

  • Blending grey hair colour
  • Enhancing natural hair tones for a glass like shine
  • Neutralising unwanted yellow or brassy tones
  • Corrective hair colour services

Why not book a consultation with our colour technicians to find out more?  We’ll be pleased to advise on how we can make the look work for you.

We are also experts at correcting hair colour disasters you may have experienced through home dye kits or elsewhere. Check out our hair colour correction page.

I’ve had my hair coloured before without any reactions – will I still need a skin test before my appointment?

«

Yes, we still require a quick skin test at least 48 hours before your colour appointment, even if you’ve coloured your hair elsewhere before with no issues. Allergies and sensitivities can develop over time, so this is an important step to help keep you safe and ensure your appointment runs smoothly.

I’m not sure whether balayage, highlights or a full colour would suit me best – can you help me decide?

«

Absolutely. If you’re unsure which colouring technique will work best for your hair type, skin tone or lifestyle, we’ll talk everything through during your consultation. We’ll recommend colours and placement that complement your features and are realistic to maintain at home.

How should I prepare my hair before coming in for a colour appointment at Fringe Benefits?

«

We recommend arriving with clean, dry hair unless we advise otherwise during your consultation. It’s also helpful to bring inspiration photos if you have a particular look in mind. If you currently use box dye or have had previous colour work done elsewhere, letting us know beforehand helps us plan the best approach for your hair.

I want a big colour change but I’m worried about damaging my hair – is it possible to keep my hair healthy?

«

In many cases, yes. We always prioritise the condition of your hair alongside achieving your colour goals. During your consultation, we’ll assess your hair health and may recommend treatments or a gradual colour plan to help maintain strength, shine and long-term results.

How often will I need to come back to maintain my hair colour?

«

This depends on the type of colour you choose and how low-maintenance you’d like your routine to be. Root colours and grey coverage usually need refreshing more regularly, while balayage and lived-in colour techniques can often last longer between appointments. We’ll recommend a maintenance plan tailored to your hair and schedule.

Can you colour my hair if I’ve used box dye or coloured it at home recently?

«

Yes, but it is very important that you are honest with us. We must know exactly what products have been used on your hair beforehand. Home colour can affect how professional colour develops, so we may need to adjust the process or recommend a consultation first. Our colour specialists will always advise you honestly on the safest and best way to achieve your desired result.
